Bids Wanted for Outdoor Lighting at Township Building

The board of supervisors of Greene Township is requesting bids to replace the lighting around the outside of the township building. Anyone interested in putting in a bid for this project can contact the township to set up a time to discuss the project with the board.

Planning Commission Member Wanted

The Greene Township, Pike County, Board of Supervisors is seeking an individual to serve on the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission members provide policy advice on land use regulations and are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and shall serve without compensation except that they shall be reimbursed for expenses incurred in carrying out their official commission duties.

The Greene Township, Pike County, Board of Supervisors will hold the 2024 Organization Meeting on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the municipal building located at 198 Brink Hill Rd., Greentown, PA 18426 at 4:00pm. The regular meeting will directly follow. The auditors will hold the 2024 Organization Meeting on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 6:00pm at the municipal building.


Adoption of Short-Term Rental Ordinance Amendments 

The Greene Township, Pike County, Board of Supervisors plan to adopt Ordinance #101 – Amending the Short-Term Rental Ordinance at the regular meeting at 7:00pm on December 6, 2023 at the municipal building, 198 Brink Hill Road, Greentown, PA. Ordinance #101 will amend Ordinance #99 which currently regulates short-term rentals within the township and establishes penalties for violations. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for review Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-2:00pm at the municipal building, or at www.greenetownship.org/ordinances. The ordinance shall become effective upon adoption.


BIDS REQUESTED

The Board of Supervisors of Greene Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania are requesting bids for the sale of a 1982 General Trailer. The equipment will be sold “AS IS” and is available for inspection at the township building, 198 Brink Hill Rd Greentown, PA. Proposed 2024 Budget

The Greene Township, Pike County 2024 Proposed Budget is available for review Monday through Thursday from 8am to 2pm at the Greene Township Municipal Building located at 198 Brink Hill Road, Greentown, PA and on the township’s website: www.greenetownship.org/budget. Bids must be accompanied by a 10% certified check or bid bond, made payable to the municipality. Performance and payment bonds of 100% are required by successful bidder within 20 days of contract award. The successful bidder will be required to comply with PA prevailing wages. Adoption of Stormwater Management Ordinance 

The Greene Township, Pike County, Board of Supervisors plan to adopt Ordinance #100 – Stormwater Management Ordinance at the regular meeting at 7:00pm on July 5, 2023 at the municipal building, 198 Brink Hill Road, Greentown, PA. The purpose of this Ordinance is to promote the public health, safety, and welfare within the Brodhead and McMichaels Creek watersheds by maintaining the natural hydrologic regime and minimizing the impacts described in Section 101 of this Ordinance through provisions. A copy of the ordinance is available for review Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-2:00pm at the municipal building, or at www.greenetownship.org/ordinances. The ordinance shall become effective five days after the adoption.

Drought Watch Issued for our Area
August 31, 2022

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) today announced the Commonwealth Drought Task Force has declared a drought watch for 36 counties and asks for voluntary water conservation in those counties.

The Board of Supervisors of Greene Township, Second Class, Pike County, PA will accept sealed proposals at the Municipal Building on Brink Hill Road, Greentown, PA or by mail at 198 Brink Hill Rd., Greentown, PA 18426 until NOON on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 for the following: 40 L.F. 18” Pipe, installed; 73 ton Superpave Base Course 25.0mm in place; 799 ton Superpave Wearing Course 19.0mm in place; 143 ton Aggregate Shoulder in place; 286 Gal Prime Coat in place. Pipe replacement – saw cut blacktop. Remove old metal pipe. Install 18” plastic pipe 1” grade. Replace head walls inlet and outlet. Contractor is responsible for safety and signs and removal of all material. Road patch for blacktop. Township will provide 18” plastic pipe. Bids must be accompanied by a 10% certified check or bid bond, made payable to the municipality. Performance and payment bonds of 100% are required by successful bidder within 20 days of contract award. Bid package available at required pre-bid project review. GREENE TOWNSHIP ROAD CREW WORKER WANTED

JOB TITLE: ROAD CREW WORKER
RESPONSIBILITIES: Worker must be able to drive all township vehicles and equipment (grader, front-end loader, tractor, roller, etc.). Applicants must have valid PA driver’s License, CDL-A License, and must pass random drug testing. Worker will be responsible for snow plowing, cindering, hauling and dumping of dirt, spreading stone and any other work deemed necessary by the township. Worker will be responsible for some maintenance of trucks and equipment. For example: fixing chains, painting, greasing, changing tires, and minor repairs. Worker will be expected to do some labor work. For example: trimming brush, putting pipe in, cleaning ditches, etc. Worker may be on call for emergencies, such as snow plowing during winter storms, removal of downed trees, etc.

* Part-time – 24 hours/week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6am-2:30pm with 1/2 hour unpaid lunch. Dental/vision benefits + 5 days paid vacation/year + life insurance included.

The Township of Greene, Pike County, Pennsylvania, will be accepting bids for two projects, located at Cykosky Park, Brink Hill Road, Greentown, PA. One project is the spreading of mulch on the playground. The mulch will be provided by the township. The second project is the installation of fencing around the park. The specifications for the fence are available upon request from the Township Secretary.
